the athletic field in Woodward Park has facilities for soccer and softball or baseball.  the latter exemplifies its own form of dual use: backstop for players, trellis for vine.

the Grove isn't far enough inland to be out of range for waterfowl.  Maple Lake has a dock but it lacks the pier pilings so favoured for perching by gulls and pelicans.
